St. Rita of Cascia is known as the **Saint of the Impossible**, inspiring people around the world through her life of faith, hope, forgiveness, and perseverance. ### Our Heritage The history of Cascia Parish dates back to **1935**, when the Cascia chaplaincy was established by the decree of Bishop Victor R. Fernandes. The first Mass was celebrated on **June 1, 1935**, in a rented house, with Fr. Francis Xavier Fernandes serving as the founding chaplain. He named the church **Cascia**, after the town in Italy associated with our patron saint, St. Rita. Over the years, the parish grew into a vibrant faith community. The church building, belfry, presbytery, parish hall, marble altar, and portico were established through the dedication of generations of priests, parishioners, and benefactors. Cascia was officially constituted as a parish on **February 3, 1947**, with Fr. F.X.
