Technologies have added convenience to the society and brought people closer, on the other hand, have reduced physical interactions between people and pulled people apart. Unlike other social media apps which are keeping their users engaged to their own social circles using the apps, Capsouls on purposely restricts users from online communications, aiming to make users meeting new people physically rather than online, just like before technologies and internet became mature in the 90s’. The name Capsouls was inspired by Japanese capsule toys which you would expect to get something with surprise. The surprise in the case of Capsouls would be new friends whom the users are going to meet, someone you may not like, or new-found soul mates, just like you were at schools. When we set up Capsouls, we emphasized the core value was to provide a user experience that is going to be different from other social media apps. A lot of us may be tired of things being predictable and routine, we all hope to see the excitements that Capsouls brings by providing a platform to the community for meeting new people who are not necessarily in their existing social networks, and to give everyone an equal chance to meet each other on a random basis.
