Store description excerpt

Your screen is a light source. CanvasVeil turns it into a surface. By laying a subtle paper or fabric texture across your display, CanvasVeil softens the harsh contrast and scattered highlights of a backlit screen — without shifting your colors or tinting your display. Text feels calmer. Pages feel warmer. Long sessions feel shorter. SEVEN HANDCRAFTED TEXTURES Each texture is procedurally generated, staying crisp and grain-sharp at any resolution: - Cotton Mist — a clean, even matte finish for everyday use - Silk Grain — ultra-fine weave, made for long reading sessions - Amber Scroll — warm aged parchment with a soft golden grain - Hemp Canvas — natural woven linen with earthy warmth - Frost Vellum — cool, translucent haze like frosted glass - Studio Press — cold-press artist paper with subtle tooth and depth - Dusk Weave — a delicate twilight fabric with a deep indigo undertone MADE FOR YOUR WORKFLOW Pin up to 4 favorite textures to the home screen and switch between them in a tap. Set a different texture for daytime and nighttime, and let CanvasVeil switch automatically with your macOS appearance. Fine-tune intensity per appearance — your light and dark settings are always remembered separately. QUIET BY DESIGN Turn CanvasVeil off in specific apps, or limit it to only the ones you choose. Schedule it for daytime, nighttime, or let it follow macOS light/dark mode automatically. Snooze it for 1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes with a tap or a keyboard shortcut. Pause it automatically on battery power. Covers all connected displays, and re-applies itself automatically when you plug in an external monitor. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS - OPT+CTRL+T — toggle on/off - OPT+CTRL+S — snooze - OPT+CTRL+Right Arrow — cycle to next texture All shortcuts are individually toggleable to avoid conflicts with other apps. WHY IT WORKS Modern displays operate at contrast ratios around 1000:1. Natural paper sits at roughly 15:1. That gap is a source of constant, low-level eye effort that compounds over a full day. CanvasVeil narrows this gap — not with color filters or blue-light tinting, but by adding a diffuse surface layer that scatters highlights and attenuates contrast, the same way a matte screen finish does. No medical claims, just sensible physics.
