Store description excerpt

This application calculates the lighting installation for a space before it's installed. You specify the type of space and its dimensions, and it returns the number of luminaires needed, their model, and their distribution on the floor plan. All in two minutes and without leaving the premises. HOW IT CALCULATES The engine doesn't distribute lumens per square meter. It distributes the luminous flux by integrating the photometric curve of each luminaire over solid angles and resolves interreflections between the ceiling, walls, and work plane using radiosity. The reflectance values of the space are entered as project data, not as a table coefficient that the user must provide. WHAT IT RETURNS • Number of luminaires, model, and distribution on the floor plan, including the layout spacing. • Point-by-point calculation on the work plane grid with a 0.5 m perimeter band: average, minimum, and maximum illuminance, and uniformity (U₀). • Illuminance isolines drawn on the floor plan of the space. • Unified Glare Rating (UGR) calculated using the actual geometry of the space and the observer's position, not taken from a product data sheet. • Illuminance on walls and ceiling, which the 2021 revision of the European standard requires to be evaluated and which almost no quick calculation provides. • Consumption and savings: kWh per year, cost in euros, CO₂ emissions avoided, and accumulated savings over the declared lifespan. • Energy Efficiency Value of the installation (VEEI) compared to the limit set by the CTE DB-HE3 for that use, with the exemptions established by the standard itself. THE VIEW OF THE ROOM A button displays the space in three dimensions, with the actual model of the chosen luminaire hanging from the ceiling and a toggle between the current room layout and the projected look. The tones of each wall, floor, and ceiling are NOT an illustration: they are the luminance calculated by the engine. If the calculation leaves a corner at 180 lux, that corner will appear dark. FOR RETAIL AND RESIDENTIAL SPACES Space types are grouped into retail, food service, residential, workplace, and public use categories: from shop windows and fish counters to living rooms and bedrooms. Each type comes with its starting level, color temperature, color rendering index (CRI), and a note explaining the rationale behind the chosen criteria. These levels are LUMILIGHT's recommendations for each type of space and can be adjusted to suit your project's requirements. THE CLIENT DOCUMENT The study is saved as a PDF directly to your phone: header, measurements, floor plan with layout crosses and dimensions, results table, savings figures, and the methodology with its defined limits. The detailed breakdown can also be shared as text. IMMEDIATE RECALCULATION Changing the optics, color temperature, or CRI automatically recalculates the entire system, including its mesh, uniformity, and distribution. It's used to compare real product alternatives in front
