Store description excerpt
Mental arithmetic, crossed over. In CalcQuest every row and every column is an equation of its own. Each number therefore belongs to a horizontal and a vertical sum at the same time – and that is where the appeal lies: you only get ahead by playing the two directions off against each other. HOW IT WORKS The tray below the board holds exactly the tiles that belong in the gaps: numbers and operators. Tap a tile, tap a gap – done. A placed tile can be picked up again at any time. Completed equations turn their equals sign green when they add up and red when they do not. Calculation runs strictly from left to right and from top to bottom, without operator precedence. FOUR LEVELS • Easy – 3×3, plus and minus • Medium – 3×3, with multiplication • Hard – 3×3, all four operations • Expert – 4×4, all four operations Every puzzle is guaranteed to have exactly one solution. The generator checks that before it ever shows you the board – so guessing will not get you anywhere, but thinking will. ALSO INSIDE • Time, moves and remaining gaps always in view • A best time per level, earned without hints • Hint, undo and clear for when you are stuck • Seven languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese • No account, no sign-up, no collection of personal data • Endless puzzles – every one freshly generated The app is funded by a single banner ad. Whether that advertising may be personalised is your decision, and you can change it at any time from the About dialog.
