Store description excerpt
Switzerland does not have one naturalisation test. It has twenty-six. Aargau sets a published multiple-choice test. Bern examines in writing. Lucerne assesses through a personal interview instead. The fee, the pass mark, the language you are examined in and how long you wait after a failed attempt all change at the cantonal border. Most apps ignore this and teach one generic test. Bürgertest asks which canton you are naturalising in, and then shows you the rules that actually apply to you. WHAT IS INSIDE - 256 questions on the federal core: democracy and federalism, history, geography, the rule of law, social security and civil society - A question pack for every one of the 26 cantons, written from that canton's own constitution and authorities - 30 questions, and 45 for Zurich - 25 lessons on the federal material, plus two written for your canton, each ending with the questions it covers - Timed mock exams scored the way your canton scores them - Practice mode with immediate feedback and an explanation for every answer, right or wrong - Verified facts for all 26 cantons: exam format, fee, required language level, residence and retake rules You study your canton's pool - the federal core plus your canton's pack, 286 questions, or 301 in Zurich - instead of a national average. 1,051 questions are written in total, and the app shows you the ones you can actually be asked. THE INTERVIEW NOBODY PREPARES YOU FOR In many communes the decision is made in a conversation, not on paper. You will be asked who sits on your municipal council, which communes border yours, where you read what is being decided locally. No competing app covers this. Bürgertest gives you 29 questions you may be asked, what a strong answer covers, and a place to write and keep your own answers about your own commune. Sixteen cantons add eight more of their own, built from that canton's procedure rather than from generic civics. You can also rehearse out loud. The app listens in the language of your canton's interview, shows you what you actually said, and keeps the recording so you can hear yourself. Cold-call mode asks five questions you did not choose, one after another: you decide when each one is read out and when the microphone opens, or let it run hands-free. If it is the delivery you are missing rather than the words, you can slow the examiner down. STUDY IN YOUR LANGUAGE, SIT THE EXAM IN THEIRS The app is available in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. You will be examined in German, French or Italian depending on your canton, so the app tells you which one applies to you and teaches the terms in that language. WRITTEN FROM PRIMARY SOURCES Every question carries its source - the Federal Constitution, admin.ch, the Federal Statistical Office, cantonal authorities - and every question carries an explanation. Where a canton has not published its procedure, the app says so instead of inventing a number. FREE AND FULL Free: fact sheets for a
