Store description excerpt
Bricks follows a building through its whole life — the money that builds it, and the money it makes afterwards. Most construction is tracked across a spreadsheet, a phone gallery of receipts, and a group chat. Nobody is quite sure what has been spent, who put in what, or how much is left. Bricks replaces that with one clear picture. WHAT YOU ARE BUILDING Add a project with a target budget, dates, and a photo. Break the work into whatever phases you actually track — site clearance, piling, a specific pour — not a fixed list someone else chose. Each carries its own progress, and you can attach photos as the work advances, so there is a visual record rather than just a percentage. Costs can never quietly exceed what has been raised. The app checks against available funds and tells you exactly what remains, in amber before it becomes a problem and red when it is one. Holding land instead of building on it? Land projects record the purchase price and target sale price, and can be marked as sold to lock in the actual figure. WHEN THE BUILD IS DONE A finished project ends one of two ways. Sell it, and the app works out the profit and shows each investor their own share. Or rent it out, and it becomes an asset — carrying its real cost across, so nothing is retyped and nothing drifts. WHAT YOU OWN Assets track what a building earns. Income, operating costs, net profit, and the return both this year and since it opened. A stacked chart shows income year by year with running costs beneath it, so a rising expense is visible before it eats the return. A building with many tenants can be split into units. Each has its own tenant, lease dates and rent. You see occupancy at a glance, which units are empty, whose lease ends next, and which rent is late — and every payment is recorded against the unit, so a tenant's history is there when it comes to renewing. Because the app knows what each payment covers, it knows when the next one is expected. A rent that has not arrived shows up as overdue rather than being noticed months later. WHO OWNS WHAT Record who paid what, and ownership percentages follow automatically. Ownership and access are separate: recording someone's stake is a financial fact, while seeing the project is something you invite them to. You can also invite someone to help run a project or asset — they can record costs, update progress and manage the day to day, and every change is recorded against their name. KEEPING TRACK OF TAX Enter what you paid and attach the invoice; the app works out the VAT inside it and keeps a running total per project. PEOPLE AND HELPERS Connect with the people you work with — you send a request, they accept. And keep the tradespeople you rely on in one place, private to you unless you choose to share them.
