Brainy Skills States and Capitals game is made to help children and adults match the correct US states to their capitals. Its format is an exciting way to help students of all ages develop and improve memorization skills, reading skills, and geography skills. This app was created, developed and written by a former teacher with the assistance of a certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with many years of hands on experience in a variety of settings from daycares, schools, and preschools with a large variety of both younger and older school age children, both typically developing and special needs children. After seeing the difficulties and struggles with answering a variety of questions, the great need for a unique, motivating, fun and exciting way to help improve these skills was obvious. There is a need to combine learning with fun in order to improve and increase motivation when grasping concepts such as basic geography and matching skills. This app can also be used for practicing reading, memorization, and overall comprehension skills for middle and high school special needs students and those looking for remedial practice. First read sentences as they are written, then find the correct sentence from the multiple choice options, while working your way up the scoreboard for points. It’s that easy! Motivate your child to beat their score each time they play and get to the highest score. There are also Brainy Bonuses that at times are tricky to teach and review the core material. The bonuses differ in complexity, and offer an opportunity to earn more points.
