Instead of a table full of numbers, Boraê reads swell, period, direction, wind, and tide at the 99 beaches of Santa Catarina, from Itapoá to Passo de Torres, and tells you, beach by beach and hour by hour, if the sea is Flat, Weak, Good, or Epic. The rating changes with your level: the Good for someone who is starting out is not the same as for someone who has been surfing for twenty years. The camera shows now. Boraê shows the week. HOW IT WORKS Forecast via ECMWF, GFS, and Météo-France, fine-tuned peak by peak. The further away the day, the less reliable it is, and the app tells you that. Best time of day at each beach, with wind and tide. 7 AM alert: the sea at your beach on your phone before you get out of bed. Session with GPS: you start surfing on the app and it checks that you're at the peak. When you stop, it asks if you caught a good wave, and your answer calibrates the forecast for that beach for everyone. 7 verified answers (20-minute surf session, with account) are worth 1 month of Pro status. My Surf: your session diary and your quiver. Beach Crew: the group of people who surf at the same spot, with session rankings. Market: surfboards and equipment, from the surfers to the surfers. Rare Waves: the slabs that rarely appear a year have their own tab. SWIMMING MODE The same beach for swimmers: Calm, Choppy, Rough, or Wild, with water, wind, and tide. The rip current doesn't appear in any forecast; it forms on the spot: the lifeguard has the final say. FREE All beaches, all day today, in Surf and Swim. No account required to start. BORAÊ PRO The Pro doesn't open the beach, it opens the weather: 10 days of forecast for any beach, for Surf and Swimming (the last 3 as trends), and the day and size of rare waves.
