Store description excerpt
BoneID SAR is a field decision-support tool for search-and-rescue teams and for the forensic identification of skeletal remains. BONE REFERENCE LIBRARY Browse the major bones of the human body by region. Each entry lists the features that mark a bone as human, the common animal look-alikes (bear paw, deer, pig, and more), and a field tip for the "is it human?" call. Tap any reference photo to open it full-screen and pinch to zoom for close comparison against your find. LOG AND SHARE FINDS Photograph a discovered bone and record its type, suspected species, estimated age, a human-likelihood assessment, and field notes. Submit it to a shared community database your team can search and review. LOCATION PRIVACY BUILT IN Locations of possible human remains are sensitive. The public database shows only a blurred, approximate area — never the exact spot. Precise coordinates are stored in a separate, access-controlled record available only to authorized authorities and moderators. MODERATION AND VERIFICATION Any find can be reported. Flagged items enter a moderation queue where moderators can keep, hide, or remove them. Experts curate the reference library and verify photos before they are shown as confirmed. You can delete your data and account at any time from the Home screen. IMPORTANT BoneID SAR is decision support, not a forensic diagnosis. Telling human from non-human bone is difficult even for experts. When in doubt, treat remains as human and potential evidence: preserve the scene and notify law enforcement or a medical examiner.
