Recognizing the importance of knowing the territory and sharing knowledge of natural values, not only with the scientific community, but also with the community in general, the BioRegisto platform was developed. This is an initiative by the Municipality of Viana do Castelo with a view to promoting the spirit of “Citizen Science” to all audiences, allowing the insertion and consultation of records of biodiversity observations. Aware that the introduction and existence of invasive alien species is a major cause of biodiversity loss worldwide, the identification and monitoring of sites with the presence of exotic species is essential for early intervention and minimizing negative impacts they cause in ecosystems. This Mobile APP - BioRegisto - results from the ‘’ Ecological Recovery of Classified Areas in the Municipality of Viana do Castelo ’’ funded by the Operational Program - Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (PO SEUR). "
