Even though he comes from Central Java, Ki Nartosabdo first appeared as a puppeteer in Jakarta, to be precise at the PTIK Building which was broadcast live by RRI on April 28, 1958. The play he performed at that time was Kresna Duta. The first experience of this puppeteer made Ki Narto panic on stage because at that time his real job was controlling the Ngesti Pandowo group. Since he was a teenager, Ki Narto has been fond of well-known puppeteers, such as Ki Ngabehi Wignyosoetarno from Sala and Ki Poedjosoemarto from Klaten. He also diligently reads various old books. At that time, the head of the RRI Studio, Sukiman, offered Ki Narto to perform a puppet, so that the PTIK show was formed.
