Store description excerpt
Bandagoo is a 2D side-scrolling platformer. Free software, no ads, no in-app purchases, no data collection. You play a boy in a bandana. You run, you jump, you throw fireballs, and you land on creatures to flatten them. The levels are hand-made, not generated, and they are linked by an overworld map you walk across between them, so you can always see where you have been and what is still ahead. WHAT LIVES IN THE LEVELS The bestiary belongs to the hills and caves the game is set in: - woodlice that roll up into a ball when you hit them - voles that dig and come back up where you were not looking - living geodes that crack open - worms that shoot out of their burrows as you pass - a drilling beetle that crosses the whole screen - stalactites that let go over your head CONTROLS Everything is on the screen: a directional pad, a jump button, a shoot button and pause. Their size and their opacity are adjustable, and the vibration can be turned off, in the options menu. No hidden gestures to discover. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - no ads, of any kind, anywhere - no in-app purchases, nothing locked behind money - no account, no sign-in - no analytics, no crash reporting, no identifiers, no tracking - no network permission at all, so it runs on a plane or in a tunnel FREE SOFTWARE Bandagoo is released under the GNU General Public License, version 3. You can read the code, build it yourself, modify it and redistribute it. The complete source, including the Android port and its touch controls, is here: https://github.com/KonsomeJona/SMC The game runs on the engine of Secret Maryo Chronicles, a desktop open-source platformer, ported to Android. Artwork, music and sound effects keep the free licences they were published under; the full credits are in the repository.
