Store description excerpt
Banana Scale is mainly designed to understand the scale of items based on a single photo. No online connectivity required, just a ArUco code in the image you took (available for free download). The size of the marker is predefined, so you have a precise measure of physical dimension per pixel at the location of the Marker. Utilizing basic photogrammetry, relying on the focal length of your image from the exif camera data being correct, we can place a 3D gizmo with X,Y and Z scaled arms into the image and do some volumetric measurements. Placing multiple ArUco codes in the same scene also allows measuring distance between the markers. Results can be stored or shared as images or forwarded to our Containd App for inventarizing the measured item. The app and the code downloads are free, work without online connection and don't require an account or login. It's a very limited niche case and requires printing a marker. But it gives you a robust way of adding scale to any photo you take without requiring an XR engine or video recording. [Features] • Add (measurement unit) per pixel scale to any single photo by placing a physical 3D marker in the scene. • Add x/y/z scale bars/ measurement bars. • Measure marker distance. • Estimate item dimensions and volume. • Processing 100% on device, no online connection required. • No in app purchase or other hidden costs • No tracking or advertising. Let me know if it is of any use for you!
