The Bangalore Milk Union Ltd., (BAMUL) is a unit of Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited (KMF) which is the Apex Body in Karnataka representing Dairy Farmers Co-operatives. It is the second largest dairy co-operative amongst the dairy cooperatives in the country. In South India it stands first in terms of procurement as well as sales. The Brand "Nandini" is the household name for Pure and Fresh milk and milk products" The philosophy of this co-operative milk producers’ organization is to eliminate middlemen and organize institutions owned and managed by milk producers, by employing professionals. Ultimately, the complex network of co-operative organization should build a strong bridge between masses of rural producers and millions of urban consumers & achieve a socio-economic revolution in the village community. The Union is taking special care to promote the health of the cattle of member milk producers. Veterinary facilities have been extended to all the MPCS. Mobile veterinary routes, emergency veterinary routes, Health camps, vaccination against foot & mouth disease and thaileriosis diseases, etc., are being regularly done. De-worming programme is done once in six months. First Aid Services is provided to cattle of producers members. Bamul is giving greater emphasis on procuring quality milk from Milk producers (Farmers) under the concept of "Quality Excellence from Cow to Consumer." Many Clean Milk Production (CMP) initiatives have been implemented at all the stages of procurement, processing and marketing. Bamul has been certified for FSSC Version 5 and ISO 22000:2018 for quality management and Food Standard & Safety Authority of India . The National Productivity Council (NPC) of Government of India has conferred "Best Productivity Award" for FIVE TIMES Bamul Customer App – This app is developed for registered Retailers and Parlours of BAMUL.
