Pick them from your library, choose a film look, and Backdate stamps the actual date the shot was taken, straight from the photo's own EXIF data. Not today's date. Not a fake 1998. The real one. BATCH, NOT ONE AT A TIME Select up to 50 photos and convert them all in a single pass, at full original resolution. No queue, no export credits, no waiting on a server. Everything runs on your iPhone. EIGHT FILM LOOKS Sunbleach — warm, sun-faded highlights and creamy skin tones. Seoul97 — cool teal shadows with a green-leaning midtone. Motel — moody, saturated slide film with crushed blacks. Paper — low saturation neutral, like a print left in a drawer. VCR — soft, bleeding color with an analog video edge. Noir — high contrast black and white with real grain. Cream — pastel, gentle contrast, soft highlight rolloff. Disposable — hard flash, punchy color, party-camera energy. One intensity slider controls the whole look, from a barely-there tint to full film. Grain, halation, and vignette are built into every look and scale correctly with your photo's resolution, so what you see in the preview is exactly what gets saved. REAL DATE STAMPS Three stamp styles: a glowing seven-segment LED, a dot-matrix display, and a clean film-engraved white. Place it in any of the four corners. Turn it off entirely if you only want the look. The stamp size scales with the image, so a 48MP photo and a 12MP photo look identical when you post them. If a photo has no capture date at all, Backdate tells you and skips the stamp rather than inventing one. PRIVACY BY CONSTRUCTION Backdate has no account, no server, and no analytics. It never asks to read your photo library. Photos come in through the system picker, which means iOS hands over only the images you selected, and finished photos go out through add-only permission.
