Store description excerpt
Avreno is a classical-cryptography workbench built for puzzle hunters, escape-room builders, students, and anyone who receives a message they cannot read. Photograph a handwritten coded note, transcribe it on the workbench, and let the analysis engines do the heavy lifting — frequency histograms, index of coincidence, Kasiski examination, and chi-squared scoring work together to narrow down the cipher and find the key. Encode and decode fourteen historical ciphers — Caesar, Atbash, Affine, Keyword substitution, Vigenere, Beaufort, Playfair, Polybius, Nihilist, Bacon, Rail Fence, Columnar transposition, Pigpen, and Book — in a single studio with support for layered encipherment. The signature Alphabet Rail mechanic lets you slide a ciphertext rail over a fixed plaintext rail and watch the entire message re-decode live as you drag; a chi-squared fit bar fills toward the correct alignment and snaps with haptic feedback when it finds the best offset. Every capture becomes a saved case file with evidence photos, analysis sessions, cipher guesses, and a full solution timeline you can reopen at any time. Work through twenty-four bundled challenge ciphertexts across four difficulty tiers, tackle the daily cipher, and spend a careful hint budget to earn a glyph-decode reveal on success. Operable reference sheets let you tap a pigpen cell to insert a letter or re-lay a Polybius square live — no static tables. Everything runs fully offline. No account needed, no data ever leaves your device.
