Store description excerpt
AutoBPM finds the tempo of music using your phone's microphone. Point it at a speaker, a record player, a live band or a playlist, and it reads the beat and shows the BPM within a few seconds. No account, no upload, no internet connection required. Three tools in one app. Live BPM. The main tab captures ambient audio and runs the tempo through a wavelet decomposition and autocorrelation pipeline. The result updates four times a second on a 7-segment display with a moving needle gauge. Range 40 to 220 BPM. Tap tempo. Tap along with a track and the app averages the intervals to give a BPM read within four or five taps. Useful when the microphone can't hear the audio cleanly, or when you're working out a tempo from memory. Metronome. A mechanical-style click with a pendulum animation. Range 40 to 220 BPM, adjustable in one-BPM steps by tapping the plus and minus keys or holding for repeat. Low-latency audio so the click sits on the beat. Useful for DJs, musicians, producers, dance instructors, running coaches, drummers and anyone else who needs the BPM of a song without opening a browser. Microphone access is used only for live BPM detection and never leaves the device. AutoBPM shows ads to keep the app free and does not collect personal data. See the privacy policy for details. Runs entirely on-device. Works fully offline
