Store description excerpt
iPhones with LiDAR sensors only. You also need a Mac on the same Wi-Fi running Ara. Ara Remote is the phone half of Ara, a visual instrument for live shows. Aim it at whoever is performing. It sends three things to the Mac: the camera image, a LiDAR depth map, and a cut-out of the person, all worked out on the phone. Ara's shaders read all three. A dancer can drag a sand dune around, block a beam of light, or come apart into a point cloud — off the real body in the room, not a video layer sitting on top of one. • Depth, matte and camera from one phone. No sensor rig, no calibration. • A matte that holds up on a dark stage. Cut-outs made from the picture alone fall apart once the lights drop. This one leans on the LiDAR when there's nothing left to see. • Straight to your Mac over local Wi-Fi. It finds Ara on its own. • Quality steps down under load so the frame rate doesn't. • Landscape layout and a dimmable screen, for a phone clamped to a stand for three hours. • Readouts for throughput, frame timing, battery and heat, so you see trouble before the room does. Nothing leaves your network. No servers, no account, no analytics. The video goes to your Mac and stops there. Ara for macOS is a separate purchase from arastudio.au.
