The “AR English Speaking Phonetic Handbook”, using modern augmented reality (AR) technologies, is designed to raise the level of spoken English and eliminate barriers to verbal English communication. A printed manual with an AR application on a mobile phone will allow the user to learn the meaning of the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and its interpretation. The key added value of this solution is the provision of a virtual British lecturer with the opportunity to hear words and sentences with an emphasis on correct accent and intonation. Unlike Czech in English, it is essential not only for correct pronunciation but also for listening to the spoken word. A separate chapter of the guide focuses on correct pronunciation of whole sentences. All listening and interaction is displayed directly in the printed manual thanks to AR technology. Each lecture is accompanied by an interactive exercise. A printed version of the manual, which is an integral part of this mobile AR application, can be ordered from our website.
