Store description excerpt
Aplomb is an instrument, not a course: you start talking and a live meter shows your pace, your pauses and your filler words while you are still speaking. Nothing you say is recorded. There is no audio file at the end of a rehearsal because there was never one during it: speech is analyzed live by Apple's on-device speech frameworks and nothing is sent anywhere, so you can rehearse a salary negotiation or an unannounced product safely. Put the phone in Airplane Mode and Aplomb works identically. PICK THE MOMENT, THEN TALK Interview answer. Speech. Pitch. Or free rehearsal, when you only want to hear yourself run through it once. You pick one and start speaking; the meter is already live. HOW A RUN GOES - Pick the moment and start talking. There is nothing to set up first. - Watch the meter while you speak. It moves with you and never interrupts you. - Stop, read the one page, and go again. Each run is compared against the one before it. WHAT THE METER SHOWS WHILE YOU SPEAK - A dial with your words per minute, read against the comfortable speaking band. When you start racing, you see it while there is still time to slow down. - A quiet counter for filled pauses, so the ums you never hear yourself say become a number on the screen. - Long silences drawn as space rather than as an alarm. A pause you took on purpose should look like a pause. WHEN YOU STOP, ONE PAGE Your pace curve across the whole run. Where the pauses fell. Your filler count. And how this run compares to the last one you did. Rehearse the same moment more than once and the convergence view lays those runs over each other, so you can watch yourself settle. Unlimited rehearsals and the convergence view come with the paid unlock, priced below. WHAT IT IS NOT There are no lessons to tap through, no quiz, and no AI coach persona telling you how you did. There are no streaks, no badges and no energy meters. Aplomb measures what you said and shows it to you plainly. The judgment stays yours. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION What you rehearse is your business. Everything happens on your iPhone: the audio is analyzed as you speak and is never recorded, never stored and never sent anywhere. That is what makes it reasonable to run through a salary negotiation, a product nobody has announced yet, or the toast you are nervous about. Airplane Mode changes nothing, because there was never anything leaving the phone. PRICE, IN PLAIN TYPE The first full rehearsal is free. The price sits on the paywall in plain type rather than behind a tap. And if subscriptions are not your thing, a one-time lifetime purchase exists. SUBSCRIPTION TERMS Aplomb unlocks unlimited rehearsals and the convergence view: your runs of one moment overlaid so you can watch yourself settle. - Weekly: $5.99/week (7-day free trial), auto-renews - Annual: $59.99/year (7-day free trial), auto-renews - Lifetime: $99.99 one-time, never renews Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
