Store description excerpt

Your kid picks the path. You do the voices. Anyway is an interactive storybook app for kids aged 6 to 12. You read the story out loud, and at every crossroad your child decides what happens next. Help the stranger, or keep walking? Take the tunnel, or the long way over the ridge? The story bends around whatever they choose, and it ends somewhere different depending on how they got there. Read the same story twice and you will not get the same book. Built for reading together, not instead of you Most kids' apps are designed to hold a child's attention while the adult does something else. This one isn't. Anyway assumes a kid in your lap and a parent doing the reading, because that's the part that actually builds vocabulary and reading comprehension. The choosing is what keeps a five year old from wandering off halfway through chapter one. Choices with consequences attached Every branch leads somewhere real. If your child talks their way past the gate instead of sneaking, the rest of the story remembers it. Kids figure out cause and effect much faster when they're the one who caused it, and the safest place to learn that a shortcut can backfire is inside a story about a floating village. Written for the age it says on the box Stories are grouped by age band, 6-8 through 10-12, and the language actually changes with them. Sentence length, vocabulary, how many decisions a story asks for, how much moral grey it's willing to sit in. A story for a six year old and a story for an eleven year old are different pieces of writing here, not the same one with harder words swapped in. You get to see how they think This is the part parents tend to bring up. Watching which path your child picks, and hearing why, tells you a surprising amount about how they weigh risk, whether they default to helping, what they do when there's no obviously right answer. The best conversations usually happen right after the story ends. "Why did you go back for her?" No ads, no autoplay, nothing waiting to grab them Every story is written and curated for this app. There are no ads, no video, no infinite feed, nothing that starts playing on its own when the last page ends. When the story's done, it's done, and you can put the tablet down. Bedtime stories, car rides, quiet Sunday mornings, or a kid reading on their own once they're old enough.
