Anukrama is a simple sequence timer for meditation. Most practices are done in silence, with the eyes closed — and most involve more than one activity, each with its own length: a few minutes of breathing, some rounds of chanting, a longer stretch of silent sitting. An ordinary timer sounds a single alarm that is neither brief nor self-stopping, and reaching for the phone to silence it breaks the very stillness you sat down for. Anukrama removes that reach. You build a practice once as an ordered set of steps. At the end of each step it sounds a gentle chime — or stays silent — and moves to the next on its own. Once you begin, you never touch the phone. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Create a practice as a sequence of timed steps • Give each step its own length, in minutes and seconds • Choose a soft end sound per step — bell, chime, gong, or singing bowl • Or leave a step silent, as a quiet pause that still moves on by itself • Have each step's name spoken aloud as it begins, if you wish • Save as many practices as you need, and start one with a single tap • A few starter practices are included to begin with MADE TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY Anukrama does one thing.
