ANDI Cybershield for Minors is the free app from the Andalusian Regional Government that blocks websites with inappropriate content, filters malicious sites, and helps you manage the time children spend on their devices. ANDI doesn't just block risks. It teaches them to understand them through its Academy, which includes simple and practical recommendations in the form of video clips, infographics, and cybersecurity quizzes. REAL-TIME PROTECTION • Automatic blocking of 350,000 malicious websites and websites with inappropriate content. • Blocking of malware, pornography, gambling, violence, fraud, etc. • Allows parents/guardians to block new websites. • Allows parents/guardians to enable access to automatically blocked websites. • The content of accessible websites or apps is not reviewed. • Photos and files are not viewed. • Browsing history is not saved. USAGE TIME CONTROL • Allows you to block the installation of new apps. • Allows you to completely block apps installed on the phone. • Allows you to set daily usage times for each app. • View the daily usage time for each app. • Allows you to extend the daily usage time if the child requests it. ACADEMY • Learn to browse safely. • Practical tips on cyberbullying, grooming, phishing, sextortion, privacy, video games, and digital well-being. • Videos, infographics, podcasts, and quizzes. Initial setup is very simple and is done by the parent/guardian on the child's phone, requiring only the parent/guardian's email address. PERMISSIONS AND SYSTEM SERVICES USED BY ANDI Local VPN Connection (VpnService) ANDI uses the Android VpnService API because web filtering is one of its main functions as a parental control application. ANDI creates a local VPN connection within the device itself to analyze DNS requests and block access to pages with content inappropriate for minors, according to the settings established by the parent/guardian. • The VPN connection does not send the child's browsing to remote servers or third parties: traffic does not leave the device through any external tunnel. • Requests are checked against a local, digitally signed list of domains and resolved using a secure, family-oriented DNS resolution service. • ANDI does not log, store, or share browsing history, nor does it collect data for advertising purposes. Without the VPN Service, it is not possible to offer web filtering, one of the app's three main functions along with app blocking and screen time limits. Accessibility Service ANDI uses the Android Accessibility Service to identify which application is in the foreground and to apply the app blocking, screen time limits, and uninstall protection configured by the parent/guardian. ANDI does not read or transmit the content of the screens.
