Store description excerpt
Aloud is a private journal that files itself. Write an entry, or say it out loud, and it lands where it belongs, a day, a feeling, a thread for the person you mentioned, and you never have to sort any of it yourself. - Nothing to file: There is no tag to pick, no folder to choose, no mood to select before you are allowed to start writing. Aloud reads what you wrote and sorts it after the fact. Get something wrong and you fix it in a tap; you are never quizzed about your day before you have had a chance to have it. - A day is a colour: Eight feelings, eight colours: joy, calm, love, surprise, tired, sad, fear, anger. Enough entries and a month becomes a grid, a year becomes a mosaic you can actually look at. A rough stretch shows itself from across the room, long before you would sit down and read why. - A thread for every person: Mention someone by name and a thread starts on its own, quietly, without you asking for it. Come back in six months and you can read everything you have ever said about that person, in order: the good stretch, the falling out, the way it eventually settled. Threads merge or get renamed if a name turns out to mean two different people. - Write or talk, the same doorway: Start speaking, switch to typing mid-sentence, switch back. Dictation happens on your iPhone, so the recording never leaves it. - Nothing to say yet: Swipe through a stack of question cards until one catches, which is how most entries actually start. Or skip the words entirely: tap a feeling on your way in, and the day gets recorded without a single one. - Read with AI, or not: Entries get read for the feeling and the names inside them. Turn that off in settings and the reading happens on the phone instead, on your own journal, where nothing leaves the device. It notices less this way, and the weekly and monthly look backs stop, but the choice stays yours, one tap either direction. - Bring a journal over: A journal exported from somewhere else, or a plain text file with a date above each entry, reads straight in. Everything comes back out the same way, in a file you could open without ever installing this app again. - Recaps: A day, a week, a month, a year: each one closes with the feeling that ran through it, and whether that feeling was climbing or easing off by the end. Read a year back in one sitting and the shape of it is suddenly obvious in a way no single entry ever showed you. - Find anything again: Search across every entry and every note, filtered by feeling or by person. Anything worth finding fast can be marked a favourite. - Talk to Aloud: Ask the Aloud AI to find what you've said about anything, in your own words, straight from your own entries. - Locked: A six-digit code set the first time you open the app, or Face ID after that. No sign-up, no email, no password, so you can be writing within seconds of installing. Signing in with Apple shows up later, and only so a journal can survive a lost phone. - No streaks: Skip a day and n
