The Confederation of Justice and Merit-Based Trade Unions (AL-KON) is a completely independent, merit-based, and justice-focused umbrella organization formed by the coming together of established trade unions operating in the fields of health, education, office work, agriculture, and religious services. Our organization was established to overcome the long-standing trade union stagnation in Turkey, strengthen worker organization, and provide a new vision for public employees. AL-KON is a modern trade union model aiming to establish justice in working life, pave the way for merit-based personnel, and create a stronger representation mechanism in collective bargaining processes. Our structure, which is not affiliated with any political party, organization, or interest group, advocates for a trade union understanding that centers the labor, hard work, and dignity of employees. Our confederation has a new generation organizational model that enables each founding union to create expert commissions addressing problems within their respective ministries, producing technical, scientific, and solution-oriented reports. AL-KON positions trade unionism not merely as a platform for criticism, but as one that produces solutions, develops policies, and shapes the future. Today, AL-KON continues to grow with its commitment to being a pioneer of fair, transparent, participatory, and merit-based trade unionism in Turkey.
