Algonet Pass lets you register and sign in on systems that show the Algonet Pass logo. There is no password to type and no code to copy: you scan the code on the screen, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and the system is signed in a moment later. The first scan on a system registers this phone with it. After that, every visit is a scan and a glance. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a system that shows the Algonet Pass logo — on a computer, a kiosk, or this phone. 2. Scan the code with your phone's camera, or tap it if you are already on the phone. 3. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. 4. The first time, that scan starts registration and the system asks you to finish once. Every later scan signs you in. Nothing to type, nothing to copy. NOTHING IS TYPED ON THE SYSTEM Your password never has to touch a keyboard you do not trust, so it cannot be read over your shoulder, left behind on the system, or picked up by a keylogger. A shared computer, a kiosk or a shop counter is as safe to use as your own laptop. ONE PHONE, MANY SYSTEMS Register the same phone with as many Algonet Pass systems as you use. Each stays separate, with its own registration, and each is listed in the app under the name of the system it belongs to. APPROVING MORE THAN A SIGN-IN A system can also ask for a confirmation before something consequential happens: a change that lasts, or a change to the details that govern access to the account, such as the registration e-mail address. The question is shown on the phone in the system's own words, with one answer that proceeds and one that does not. Nothing happens until you confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and declining is sent as an answer rather than treated as silence. WHAT YOU NEED Install Algonet Pass and open a system that shows the Algonet Pass logo. Scan the code to register or to sign in. There is no separate sign-up form inside the app. PRIVACY The app sends nothing to Algonet. It talks only to the system that showed you the code, over HTTPS. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and it asks for no access to your contacts, photos, files, calendar or location. It does not even ask for the camera: your phone's own camera opens the code and hands the link to the app. SECURITY The private key that identifies your phone is generated on the device, stored in the Keychain and never transmitted. Every approval requires Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Every response from the system is digitally signed, and the app pins the system's key when the phone is registered, so a different key is refused afterwards. Your face or fingerprint is checked by iOS itself. The app never sees it: it only receives a yes or no. MANAGING YOUR PHONE Manage registrations lists every system this phone is registered with.
