Store description excerpt

The world is a shelf. Point the camera at a wall, a hedge, a window sill. The lens takes five readings — hue, saturation, light, dispersion, structure — and distils them into a reagent that behaves exactly as the plate saw. A flat wall in even light is quiet. A hedge in sunshine will not sit still. You keep a house. Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, Rubedo. Sixteen rungs of the Great Work. Forty formulae in the Codex. Conjunctions turn through the day: Dead Calm for a Sublime, Hard Frost when the mixture settles too fast, Aetheric Flux when the field swings both ways. THE BENCH Load reagents onto Solve / Coagula, Volatile / Fixed. They pull the mixture toward where they sit. Check the anchors against the target before you light anything. THEN THE OPERATIONS Attunement — match the signature from the fundamental down. Titration — read the rate, not the colour. Stop on the turn. Levigation — even, not fast. One slow circuit beats twenty frantic ones. Fractionation — one boiling point at a time, change the receiver, then raise the heat. Synthesis — heat is the accelerator, pressure the brake, acidity the steering. Steer into the ring and hold until coherence fills. THE VAULT Black Wash, Dross Oil, Fixed Salt, Citrine Solution, Azoth, Alkahest, Ember Oil. Made here or drawn from light. Ignis, Terra, Ventus, Unda, Aether. Forty-nine substances on the shelf, each with potency, volatility, instability, structure. ORDERS AND THE BOARD Aurel Morrow will not pay unless the antimonial star shows. Quantity, minimum grade, days. Essence and standing. What you do not need, the board buys at two fifths. THE LENS AND THE JOURNAL Herbarium plates keep what the camera actually read. The Eleventh Keeper left pages — some intact, some scorched. Your own hand logs every synthesis, harvest and delivery. No account required for the Work itself. Camera and library are used only when you draw matter from the world or set a keeper portrait. Open the Work. Raise the First Red.
