How Akme works: Alerted to an upcoming show by a band or venue they follow, fans purchase virtual tickets through Akme and, in doing so, become members of the group of all remote attendees. This enables on-line interaction in the lead-up to the event, during it, and after. Physical attendees also buy the Akme virtual ticket to participate in the action and join in the fun. Friendships form as people post and comment, and artists stoke interest by adding their own content to the event forum.
