Store description excerpt
Agari is a focused riichi (Japanese) mahjong trainer that turns the two hardest skills at the table — scoring a hand and choosing the right discard — into fast, endless practice. LEARN RIICHI FROM ZERO A guided course, built in. Fourteen illustrated lessons across five chapters take you from your very first tile to your first win — the goal of the game, reading a hand, sets and waits, yaku, scoring (han and fu), and tile efficiency — with worked example hands and quick checks along the way. New to riichi? Start here. A SCORING ENGINE YOU CAN TRUST Every hand is scored by a complete rules engine: yaku and yakuman detection, fu counting, the han/fu score ladder, and dealer and non-dealer tsumo/ron splits. It plays by one fixed, standard ruleset — red fives, open tanyao, counted yakuman and double yakuman — rather than asking you to configure anything. It always reports the highest-scoring reading of your hand. TWO PILLARS, ONE APP • Score training (点数計算) — read a hand, then answer the fu, han, or final score. Graded from Beginner to Yakuman. • Efficiency (何切る) — you've just drawn a tile; pick the discard that keeps you widest. Every choice is graded by real acceptance (ukeire) counts. ENDLESS PROBLEMS Problems are generated and verified by the engine itself, so you never run out — and every answer is provably correct. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES Missed problems come back on a spaced-repetition schedule keyed to the underlying skill, not the exact hand. A weak-spots view shows precisely which yaku need work, and how your discards are scoring. A CALCULATOR FOR THE TABLE Build any hand — open or closed, with pon, chii, and kan — set the winning tile, seat and round winds, riichi, and dora, and get an instant, fully broken-down score. A YAKU REFERENCE Thirty-six yaku, each with a Japanese name, a han value and a worked example hand — searchable, and every example verified by the same engine that scores your hands. • Authentic tile art • Japanese and English • Works fully offline • No account, no ads, no data collection Agari Pro unlocks the Intermediate, Advanced and Yakuman scoring tiers, the 1-shanten efficiency drill, and the calculator's full breakdown. It is available as a monthly auto-renewing subscription (with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers) or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Pricing is shown in the app and on the App Store product page. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase; a subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings.
