Store description excerpt
Aerial is an Augmented Reality artwork inspired by the high-voltage linesmen of PPC (Public Power Corporation of Greece) and Henri Matisse's painting Dance (1910). Its structure unfolds across two layers: the first is a painted surface that reinterprets the composition of the circle, while the second is activated through augmentation — experienced through the screen of a smartphone or tablet. The work explores the relationship between memory, image, and energy as a cultural force. Drawing on archival material from PPC's visual vocabulary and institutional history, the images are reassembled and set in motion across different contexts and viewing technologies, acquiring new meanings with each encounter. A narrative in which past, present, and the technologies of the gaze coexist — an allegory of energy as a continuous flow that shapes the way we imagine the future.
